Sean Green was born on February 2, 1970 in sunny Santa Monica, California. At the age of 8, his family was uprooted and relocated to the tough streets of New York City.  At age 10 he joined the Lionel Hampton Striders track & field team located in Harlem , NY. He competed in many events, but found his niche' in the 100m, 200m sprint events.  In 1982, after 2 years of track & field, Green's focus became solely on the sport of basketball. He went on to exel on the prep school and  AAU circuit, gaining tons of exposure to college recruiters.  


In 1987, after graduating from the #2 nationally ranked Oak Hill Academy, Green signed an athletic scholarship with North Carolina State, but  after one semester transfered to Iona College.   He spent the rest of his college career at Iona, finishing 6th on the all time leading scorers list, tallying up 1550 points in only two and a half seasons.   In 1991, Green was drafted 41st pick overall in the NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers. He went on to play 3 years in the NBA, 8 years in Europe (Italy, Israel, France, Turkey), Asia and South America.


After retiring from basketball in 2002, he is presently working in NYC at Chelsea Piers Sports Center as basketball program coordinator and personal fitness instructor. In 2010, he became head coach Convent of the Sacred Heart preparatory school in Greenwich, CT.  In 2012 Green led the tigers to a 18-6 overall record, while capturing the first FAA league and tournament championship in 23 years. Green presently trains athletes in the NYC/NJ metro area.
